Friday night we had a family dinner. My youngest daughter and her sons attended, so did my son, his wife and three children.

About mid-way through our time together my youngest daughter reprimanded her youngest son, age fourteen who was attending with his girlfriend.  My daughter had every right to be upset with him and to discuss the issue with him.

However, the way she went about it in front of everyone in the room was difficult even for me to take.  The way she handled it not only hurt him, but it kept me from sleeping for several hours.

Today she called me and asked that I say nothing while she explained her position.  Once she was done, she said goodbye and I had refrained from making a comment.  '

The call upset me, and I needed an immediate chocolate fix.   As I was driving to Kroger to get the chocolate I was fuming and near tears.  I wanted to reply to her but held my tongue. Proverbs 18:21 (NASB) states “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,” and I did not want to impart death.

After getting the chocolate I was headed to the checkout.  I passed a lovely Christian lady wearing a shirt that said “God, I got this.”  Meaning, God had it under control. I knew that was meant specifically for me and spoke to her briefly about how much seeing that meant to me at that moment.

I proceeded to checkout and went to my car.  The song There is Another in the Fire was playing.  I started to cry and knew again God was speaking to me.  God is faithful in all things.
