As we enter 2022 is your life going to remain the same?  Each year people resolve to do things differently.

What was your life like in 2021, 2020, 2019?  Did you desire change and yet keep going in the same direction?

While God expects us to work, 2 Thessalonians 3:10 New American Standard Bible 1995 “10 For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.”  He does not expect us to work to hoard things, His will for us to enjoy life.  You don’t need an over abundance of things to enjoy life. What God gives us he expects us to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17 New American Standard Bible 1995 “17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.”

He doesn’t give us things to worry and fret over.

”Matthew 6:19-20 New American Standard Bible 1995 “19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;”

John 14:27 New American Standard Bible 1995 “27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”

Matthew 6:27-34 New American Standard Bible 1995 “27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you 34 “So do not worry about tomorrow;  for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Suppose today you could change just one thing in your life.  Suppose instead of life being about you, it was about God and your fellow man.

Perhaps you could learn godliness this year.

1 Timothy 6:6-11 New American Standard Bible 1995 “6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.  11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.”  Luke 9:24 (NASB 1995) “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.”

If there is discontentment in your life do not fear change.  2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

If you are discontent, you have nothing to lose by trying something new.

If you like movies I would recommend viewing The Dreamseller.

Whatever path you chose for 2022 I hope it brings you peace and contentment.
