People choose to reject Jesus Christ. Some due to unbelief. Some because they believe the cost of following him is too costly.
In the following scripture Jesus cast out demons and the “whole city … implored Him to leave their region.”
Matthew 8:31-34 New American Standard Bible 1995 “31 The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.” 32 And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and including what had happened to the demoniacs. 34 And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region.”
Then Jesus left them.
Matthew 9:1 New American Standard Bible 1995 “9 Getting into a boat, Jesus crossed over the sea and came to His own city.”
He did not force them to accept him, he accepted their choice, their free will.
During Jesus ministry he:
These are a few of the things Jesus did while ministering on earth.
He taught about the Father, love, and life.
Men from the time he walked the earth until now mocked and sneered at him. Isaiah 53:3 New American Standard Bible 1995” 3 He was despised and forsaken of men,” Despised by men who feared his power, men who sought power, self-righteous men. Men who did not understand love. Men who wanted the platitudes of humans.
Isaiah prophesied of Jesus’ birth. Matthew recorded what the angel said to Joseph. Matthew 1:20-21 New American Standard Bible 1995 “20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.””
Christ is God’s path to forgiveness for humans. God has always required a blood sacrifice for sin. The shedding of Jesus’ blood is the final sacrifice for sin. Accepting the sacrifice is a personal matter. Each man/woman must decide for themselves if they are willing to accept the sacrifice.
Acceptance of Jesus’ sacrifice is the condition for salvation and eternal life. John 14:6 New American Standard Bible 1995 “6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Christ was not being arrogant but truthful. What person would go through the torture and death he went through willingly? He did it out of obedience to the Father and love for humankind.
You have a choice today. You can believe in Christ or reject him. The choice is yours. The decision you make will determine your destiny not only eternally but here on earth.
If you choose to accept Christ as your savior, you can make the commitment by asking for forgiveness of your sins and asking the Holy Spirit to guide you from this time forward.
