Fall is my favorite time of year and spring my second favorite.  Spring is seed time and fall harvest time.  Yahweh says in Genesis 8:22 (NASB 1995)  “While the earth  remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease.”

Harvest is normally a time of rejoicing.  The crops are in and stored for the coming year.  God commanded the Feast of the Harvest.

Exodus 23:16 (NASB 1995) “Also you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.”

In the quote from Genesis 8:22 above God indicates that earth as we know it will pass away.  He says “While the earth remains.”  By, implication it means someday it will not remain.

Matthew 24:35 (NASB 1995) states “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”

God is the Alpha and Omega, the source of all things there will be a new earth.

Revelation 21:1 (NASB 1995) “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.”

When this earth passes away there will be a harvest, not of produce that comes from seed, of souls.

Matthew 13:24-30 (NASB 1995) “24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. 26 But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. 27 The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves *said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

Revelation 14:14-20 New American Standard Bible 1995 “14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.”

If the reaping were to occur today are you ready?

2 Peter 3:9 (NASB 1995) “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”  Our good works are not what gets us into heaven.  Grace provided by the shed blood of Jesus is the only entrance.

John 14:6 (NASB 1995) “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

1 Peter 2:6-10 New American Standard Bible 1995 “For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone,” and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.”

You have a choice between life and death  Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”

If you want life and don’t know what to do, pray this simple prayer. Father God I accept Jesus Christ as my savior and desire to live my life for you through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Holy Spirit lead me and guide me in all I do.  Let my life be pleasing to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
