“2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;” 2 Peter 2:2 New American Standard Bible 1995

As I reflect on this verse, I cannot help but think about the lifestyle of many non-believers today.

We live in a society where almost every sensual pleasure is permitted.  Society states it is wrong to say that these sensual pleasures are wrong.

“27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the [a]sky and over every living thing that [b]moves on the earth.””  Genesis 1:27-28 New American Standard Bible 1995

God chose to make man and woman first to be His friends, to create a companion for Adam and then for the proliferation of humans.  He gave them the appropriate anatomical appendages to create life.  Without these appendages humans would have ended with Adam and Eve.  Your parents used these appendages to create you.  Without them you would not be alive.

This is true!  Yet people are maligned for stating the obvious.

A man cannot procreate with a man, likewise a woman cannot procreate with another woman.  It is anatomically impossible.

Natural life begins with the egg being fertilized by the sperm.

God saw that man should not be alone and He created woman:

“18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [a]suitable for him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the [b]sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the [c]sky, and to every beast of the field, but for [d]Adam there was not found a helper [e]suitable for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 The Lord God [f]fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; [g]She shall be called [h]Woman, Because [i]she was taken out of [j]Man.”

24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.” :  Genesis 2:18-25 New American Standard Bible 1995

Today many nations have legalized marriage between individuals of the same sex.  These unions cannot naturally generate children.  Laws have been enacted to protect the rights of people who prefer love with members of the same sex.

God (Yahweh) loves all people.  True believers of Christ love all people regardless of sexual orientation or any other distinguishing factor.  We can love all people without endorsing the lifestyle of those who live contrary to Gods law.  There are many lifestyles in the world that don’t conform to His law.

It is Gods will that all men (people) be saved:

“3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the [a]knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony [b]given at [c]the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:3-6 New American Standard Bible 1995

I would like to point out that in Sodom and Gomorrah the existing lifestyle had been going on for some time.  God had not intervened until He heard an outcry. He decided to check it out. "20 And the Lord said, “The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave. 21 I will go down now, and see if they have done entirely according to its outcry, which has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”  Genesis 18:20-21 NASB  "

19  Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and [a]bowed down with his face to the ground. And he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said however, “No, but we shall spend the night in the square.” Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people [b]from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may [c]have relations with them.”"  Genesis 19:1-5 NASB

Now remember God checked this out for Himself before He judged Sodom.

“23 The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, 25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the [a]valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.” Genesis 19:23-26 New American Standard Bible 1995

Jesus came to earth to save sinners.  He who was with the Father at creation took on human form and died on the cross for our sins, that we could have eternal life and relationship with the Father and him.

“5 Have this attitude [a]in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be [b]grasped, 7 but [c]emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death [d]on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 New American Standard Bible 1995

“9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for [a]his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 New American Standard Bible 1995

Yes, there will be a judgement for all humanity.

You have a choice as to how you live today.  It will determine where you will spend eternity.
